Sleepy Hollow Black Tea Blend
Sleepy Hollow Black Tea Blend
"...this sequestered glen has long been known by the name of Sleepy Hollow... A drowsy, dreamy influence seems to hang over the land, and to pervade the very atmosphere. Certain it is, the place still continues under the sway of some witching power, that holds a spell over the minds of the good people, causing them to walk in a continual reverie. The whole neighbourhood abounds with local tales, haunted spots, and twilight superstitions; stars shoot and meteors glare oftener across the valley than in any other part of the country..."
-Washington Irving, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Inspired by Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, this fall tea evokes a sense of mystery and the crisp air of an eerie autumn night. It starts with a rich base of smoky black tea, representing the dark and suspenseful atmosphere of the Sleepy Hollow woods. Blood orange adds a sharp, citrusy note that hints at the unsettling yet vibrant energy of the season. Cinnamon and clove lend their warming, spiced aroma, reminiscent of the Headless Horseman's haunting presence, while dark chocolate brings a decadent, bittersweet depth, echoing the tale’s gothic undertones.
