Autumn Bonfire Herbal Tea Blend
Autumn Bonfire Herbal Tea Blend
"Some trees, as small hickories, appear to have dropped their leaves instantaneously...being bright yellow still, though withered, reflect a blaze of light from the ground where they lie. Down they have come on all sides, at the first earnest touch of autumn’s wand, making a sound like rain."
-Henry David Thoreau, Autumnal Tints
*Contains a low amount of caffeine, in the form of a trace amount of black tea.
Inspired by Thoreau's Autumnal Tints, this fall tea blend weaves together flavors that echo the quiet beauty of the season. Honeybush tea forms the base, bringing a slightly sweet, earthy warmth that feels like a comforting embrace. The dried apples add a fresh, fruity crispness, reminiscent of an orchard in the height of autumn. A smoky black tea lends an earthy depth, like the lingering scent of a distant fire on a cool evening.
The blend is infused with classic fall spices—cinnamon, cloves, and aniseed—bringing a warming spiciness that balances the subtle bitterness of cocoa nibs. Orange peel introduces a lively brightness, a pop of citrus to awaken the senses, while the red peppercorn adds a gentle, invigorating kick. The smooth nuttiness of hazelnut rounds out the blend, evoking the rich, earthy tones of fallen leaves and the tranquil mood of autumn.
This tea offers a reflective, layered experience—sweet, smoky, spicy, and warm—capturing the subtle, fleeting charm of fall in each sip, just as Thoreau might have imagined in his writings on nature's seasonal transitions.
